How to Add Backgrounds For Personalized Videos In Clipio
1. Open the Video Landing's editor 0:08
From your video page, click into the video you want to edit.
Select Click to Edit to open the page settings
2. Go to the Backgrounds section 0:15
In the editor, open the Backgrounds tab.
You can add up to 8 different backgrounds.
Backgrounds can be:
A company website or any other URL (that does not require a sign in like social media)
A custom background image such as a powerpoint slide or screenshot
3. Set Background type **IMPORTANT** 0:33
By default, Background Type is set to Company website. This will show the company website that you have tied to that individual contact. If you upload an image here, it will only be used as a fallback in the case that we could not pull a screenshot of that company website for some reason.
Showing a URL tied to that contact such as their website is a powerful way to grab their attention. If it is the first background, it will show on the thumbnail when they receive your video through email, message, or SMS.
If you want an image to always show as the background, choose Background Image.
Click Choose File and upload the image you want.
Click Save when finished.
4. Add additional backgrounds and change Timing with slider 1:00
To use more than one background, click Add New Background.
Select the desired Background Type again and upload an image.
Use the slider to set the point in the video where the background should change.
Upload the file for each new background and save it.
6. Preview and send the video 1:43
After saving, preview the video to confirm the backgrounds switch correctly.
Once everything looks right, send the video out to contacts.
7. Get help if needed 2:12
The feature is designed to be simple and easy to use.
If you have questions, use the chat support option.
Clipio support is available if you need help setting up backgrounds.
Common mistakes:
Not selecting the correct background type:
If you do not want the company website background, be sure to select Background Image.
This is the key step when you want a custom image instead of a website.
Adjust the timing slider as needed, then click Save.
Not Saving
You need to save your work to save your work. Use the save button
Tip:
You can start on the Company Website URL (tied to each contact), switch to Other Website, then switch to images you have uploaded at whichever timing you choose. Starting on the prospect's website and switching to some slides is a powerful way to get your message across. If you start with their website, it will appear in the thumbnail in their email, Linkedin or SMS to really grab their attention.
